today is a
freaking cold day!!! urghh!! met junwan and josh at transit plaza at about 8.30am. yes, that means that i have to leave my house at about 8.05am when it's freezing and drizzling!! think this morning it should be about 5 degrees or something. i'm like wearing 3 layers and i'm still quite cold. esp my legs, my hands and my face!! urghh!! the feeling is horrible. how am i going to survive winter?? it's only like middle of autumn now and i'm already freezing my ass off. the next week is going to be worse!! today's highest temperature is 14 degrees, lowest 6 degrees. think from tmrw onwards, the lowest is going to fluctuate between 2 degrees and 3 degrees! urghh!! dont feel like going out anymore!! just want to stay at home and enjoy the warmth.
went to the driving centre to take my
theory test. it's so screwed up! the system was down and i had a choice whether to wait or to leave first coz the people are not sure whether the system will eventually be up. well, luckily i waited, coz about half an hour after that, the system is finally up and i managed to take my test. the test is pretty easy and i passed the first try! well, i have to pay USD20 to get 3 tries and the instructional permit which allows me to drive when there's someone with a full license in the car with me! yeah! i finally reached back home at around 11.15am. still think home is the most comfortable place to be at, esp when it is damn freaking cold outside!
renting a car tmrw. maybe going "
tuscola" to shop. it's this factory outlet nearest to my place...think it's about 20 mins drive. but qing said that it totally sux. but, the other places are really far away!! like 3 hrs drive away or something. i dont want to sit till my butt hurt again!!! urghh!! anyway, going to the
gym later. but, i'll be going alone. hai....matt only wants to go to the gym once a wk, qing is playing soccer and kristine simly doesnt like going to the gym. loney me! i've been sticking to my twice-a-week gym schedule for 2 wks so far!! i can do it! i can maintain this schedule till i go back so i wont seem like i gained too much weight!!

yeah! tickets to NYC for end of the year has been booked! it costs USD$112.70. think it's pretty ex but it's so much cheaper than if we booked last min. good that another "big item" is gone so i do not have too much debts that i have to consider. but i have to pay my apartment rent of a freaking USD$900 by next wk! urghhhhh!!! another big item. shit. dont think i have enough money in my account. i need to transfer already. urghh!! irritating....the life here is damn expensive. I am always going home for lunch after my morning lesson because it is just too expensive to eat out. it gets a bit sian now because the only thing i eat for lunches are pasta and instant noodles. urghh!! i need more solid food!!!! hokkien mee, prawn mee, char kway teow...urgh!! I MISS SINGAPORE FOOD!!!
going to six flags at St. Louis this wk! heard from so many people that is is really good. six flags is actually this amusement park and they put up a special event called "fright fest" during halloween period which is now!!! yeahh!! can go to the haunted house and stuff. hope it meets up to my high expectation. but dont think i'll try the rides because i'm so scared of roller coasters and stuff. think my heart will jump out.
going to FAR hall for dorm food tmrw!! tmrw is a special day when they serve german food and i love german sausage !!!! yum yum. hope tmrw's food is good. on fri, the few of us, qing's friend paul, lauren and her friend will all be going to eat steak!! urghhhh...i am so deprived of steak bcoz matt cant eat beef and so we seldom eat beef at home. we are prob going to the "outback steakhouse". urghhh!!! cant wait.

urghh!! stupid qing. told him that i cant sleep and asked him how??? told him that i have been lying in bed fr 12am-12:45am and guess what did he say? i suggest u just close your eyes and try to sleep, and things like read a book and get yourself tired........
DO YOU REALLY FUCKING THINK THAT I HAVE NOT DONE ALL THESE THINGS? I JUST CANT SLEEP?? anyway, what else did he tell me? started telling me about this project that he just realised that is due next wednesday. yes, 1 wk later! isnt it obvious that i was hoping that he may decide to walk over to my apartment and accompany me for a while? since we are only like 2 blocks apart?
NO! HE DID NOT EVEN HINTED IT! after telling me about his project, he decides that he is tired and wants to go to sleep.
WHAT ABOUT ME? yes, he didnt even bother. seri ously, we are on exchange together, we are suppose to have fun!! it should be like a mega-long traveling trip! and what the hell. he becomes super obsessed with studying. if he's not studying, he's playing some stupid computer game that i have stopped playing, or he is watching videos on his computer. what the hell. i would appreciate if he waste less time and spend more time with me. nowadays, the only time that i spend with him is mostly only during mealtimes. other times?

hai. cant sleep again! i have been having sleepless nights. keep thinking about driving test. as you know,
I FAILED MY FIRST DRIVING TEST! the TP said that I was a reckless driver. what the hell!!! after that, i have so much problem, bcoz he failed me!! i came to US 2 days after my driving test, resulting in absolutely ZERO practice before my next test, which would probably be in january!! 6 months of not driving is definitely going to make things worse. Just as i thought things cant get any worse, the
FUCKING B**C DECIDE TO SCRAP ALL THE MODELS THAT I AM LEARNING CURRENTLY (EXI) TO VTI! (opps. have to be more discrete now. have no wishes to get sued since now blogging about something that pisses you off have that risk) anyway, the changing of car model means that i would have to relearn everything when i get back!! the turning radius is different, therefore, the turning points are different and stuff!! urghh. think that fucking b**c is just trying to cheat student's money. they should at least wait till the last batch of students who are still learning EXI to complete their course and slowly scrap the car right? brainless as*hol*!!!!! anyway, i just keep thinking about it causing my sleepless night. yeah, it has been months, but i'm really scared that i cant pass the second time and i dont want to spend anymore money! the wait of 6 mths to take a driving test is bad enough right. what the hell!!!!

just came back fr a st. louis trip. we drove for about 2.5 hrs before reaching there. luckily i slept my whole way there, but i could not sleep on my way back!! urghhh......staying awake for 2.5 hrs in a car is torturous. esp when the seatbelt restricted your movement terribly. it's horrible !!
nothing much to do in st louis. went to see this "arch" thing. which is sort of like the "gateway to the west". dont really know what it means, but it's quite magnificant. after that, we went to brewery for budweiser. the whole tour took like 1 hr !! not like we are very interested, we are just there for the free beer. anyway, the beer is really good. those freshly brewed ones. i was not a fan of budweiser to start with but it's really quite smooth. the magic of freshness i suppose. of course we went to a factory outlet after that. spent around USD$150 again. irritating, but this time it's mostly for my mum and bro and the necessities for winter. i do not want to freeze my ass off when i go new york in december.
the grocery here is horrible. because we rented the car this wkend for the st louis trip, we went to do grocery at walmart on fri late afternoon. as usual, we spent a whole 2 hrs there! looking through all the fresh food and frozen food, really feel v "auntie". another thing that surprise me is that i am actually able to remember how much the normal stuffs cost in different supermarket and compare the prices!! urghhh !! ultimate auntie man. i dont want to be an auntie so young!! anyway, i spent like USD$42 for 2 wks worth of groceries. hopefully the food can really last us for 2 weeks otherwise i'll be damn broke. after my shopping today, i feel that i do not have anymore money left. my parents have already sent me around USD$6000 and i feel quite bad if i still have to ask them for more money.
after staying here for a while, i think i'll actually prefer staying here to study rather than go back to singapore.
firstly, i think the system here is slightly better. they have like group work and short memos to summit quite frequently. although i have to summit things more often, the assignments are generally easier to do. memos are usually less than 3 pages unlike the projects that you do in singapore which can be anything from 20-30 pages. think it's really quite tough. and the case studies here are really what you can expect when you go to work, they are all real life cases. i know that i have only taken the basic modules in ntu and not those that i'm taking now (obviously), i cannot really compare because i'm comparing different things. but if the modules remain the same as how they are taught in first year, the system here is better. more applicable to real life.
secondly, there is nothing much to do here. it is basically a town campus so i have lots of time to catch up on my readings. can you believe it, this is like the first time of my life that i actually manage to read before i go for class ! and i can count the number of lessons that i have missed, a drastic difference from when i am in singapore.
thirdly, US is so big. although during the wkdays i'll be bored and study, i can travel around on wkends to everywhere! unlike singapore when you have nothing to do, nowhere to go and stuff like that. going for roadtrips can be like an every-wkend-affair and you will never be able to finish touring i think.
lastly, the tv shows here are amazing! there are like so many interesting shows everyday! "filthy rich, the girl next door, friends, csi......" there are just so many choices, and these are excluding the movies that they are showing like it's free ! although they may not be damn new and stuff, they are definitely newer than in singapore. you get to watch movies on tv everyday instead of just the "stay in saturday" movies every wk!
the living condition of the place that i stay is horrible though. i just found 2 big bugs dead under my bed yesterday. the thought of it really disgusts me. yucks. however, this is not permanent if i am studying here for long! i have been to so many nice apartments which have reasonable rentals! bricks apartments, near school which is basically in the heart of the town, clean.....everything that you need man!
hai...dont wanna go back singapore....
